Rola Wala brings vibrant Indian wraps to Spitalfields

If bright flavours and vibrant spices are your bag, then Spitalfields newcomer Rola Wala has it all wrapped up — quite literally.

The long-time street food favourites have settled into their first permanent London site, and are serving up wraps filled with the likes of earthy Bengali-spiced beef braised brisket or black chickpeas with coconut, sweet potato, pineapple and spices.

It is focused mainly on the food-to-go crowd, with just a handful of seats overlooking the all-important 'assemble-to-order' counter.

Here customers start by choosing either a hand-rolled sourdough naan to wrap their chosen filling in, or opt instead for a breadless base such as brown rice or noodles. The next stage is to choose a filling, followed by a range of fresh chutneys.
