It's a 4-ton record curry

A team of chefs yesterday claimed the record for the world's biggest curry after making one weighing four tons.

The dish included 1,700lb of vegetables, 12lb of curry powder and several hundred gallons of water.

It took eight hours to cook in a specially built 6ft-high cauldron and was big enough to feed 14,000 people.

The team, from Suffolk College, Ipswich, said the curry was one-and-a-half tons heavier than the previous record. Head chef Kalam Matin, 38, said: 'It's like any other curry - but 1,000 times bigger.'
