1. An American Hot Romana at Pizza Express at The Pheasantry with Sarah Sands while watching her devilish brother Kit Hesketh-Harvey in cabaret with gifted pianist James McConnel.

2. After Men in Motion (and in tights) at The Coliseum, which had its downs as well as its ups, half a lobster at J Sheekey Atlantic Bar.

3. The Awayday lunch gang starts with white crab meat with apple, citrus and cashew, pictured, at Simon Bonwick’s The Crown, Burchetts Green. Five of his nine children help out. What a brilliant time we have.

4. A new discovery/hideaway is Lounge at The Pilgrm hotel, Paddington. The pared-back aesthetic feels timely. Ex-Grain Store chef — so lentil dhal, baby courgette, tomato and sorrel, obvs.

5. My mate Kate suggests early Sunday supper at new Farina Pizzeria Napoletana in Notting Hill. Ideal slow-fermented dough, but the best item is chef’s mum’s almond and lemon cake.
