Fish and ships: Floating seafood restaurant to launch on Regent’s Canal
Following several pop-ups around town, London Shell Co are preparing to launch a floating seafood restaurant on the Regent’s Canal this autumn.
Set on the Prince Regent canal boat, the fishy offering will remain static during the day, when it will be docked in Paddington near Sheldon Square, but will treat diners to cruises up and down the canal of an evening.
The menu will be hyper-seasonal and include a selection of British game along with fish and seafood.
Dishes will include Morecambe Bay oysters served the London Shell Co way, with moscatel vinegar, chilli, celery and cucumber, as well as smoked cod’s roe and burnt leeks on toast, blood cake with scallops and pea purée, and bacon with cockles and laverbread.

A number of English options will feature on the short wine list, while a concise cocktail selection will include a twist on a Negroni and the Simcoe Black which features rum, cider brandy and vermouth.
The restaurant, called simply London Shell Co, is due to open on November 3. Visit londonshellco.com.
