The 29-year-old regular at St Martin's said: "It has definitely been a client-driven change. Mine prefer to have afternoon tea rather than a long and boozy lunch. You seem to get so much more done and achieve a lot more business-wise when you have afternoon tea."
While the pastries are exquisite and the sandwiches faultless, there is one area which might unnerve the hardened tea-drinking traditionalist at St Martin's Lane - the waiters are instructed to pour the tea into the cup before adding the milk.
