So would I come back? No. Not unless I was in the area with friends who might help liven up the dull atmosphere and rather hit-and-miss food. Ramsay can't have it all ways. If he's turning himself into a brand, it shouldn't be at the expense of quality - but sadly, that's what seems to be happening at The Narrow. His latest pub-refurbishment - The Warrington in Maida Vale - has run up against town planners. Expansion for expansion's sake isn't necessarily good. It's the first time I've been disappointed by one of his places and something clearly isn't working in Empire Ramsay.
Gordon, by the way, means 'large fortification'. So, size clearly does matter to the pugnacious one. He just needs to be careful what he does with it.
