Moving on, Elaine did a fish pie, which had a good mix of fish and a creamy sauce, but there was far more potato than fish so she felt a bit cheated. I went for carvery: a thick slice of tender roast pork with a hefty whack of crackling, mash and red cabbage, with the right balance of sweet and sour. We split a chirpy summer pudding. The sour bread was excellent, being from Fontaine's mate, Fergus Henderson's St John Bread And Wine. The prices are extremely fair. I hope this place does well.
