Lowiczanka Polish Cultural Centre, 238-46 King Street, W6 (020-8741 3225). The weekend discos at this, London's biggest Polish cultural centre, which start up again after Easter, are renowned, and draw more than just Polish funsters to their brash mix of Polish pop, power rock and chart music. The restaurant here is popular, and live gypsy music gets everyone up for a boogie. Ave per head £23. Nearest Tube: Ravenscourt Park.

Ognisko Polish Club, 55 Prince's Gate, Exhibition Road, SW7 (020-7589 4635). The food at this restaurant (attached to the Polish Institute And Museum) is uptown and includes caviar and Polish dishes with old-fashioned international touches. Of all London's Polish clubs, this is the one that feels most like a gentleman's club. The bar feels kinda sexy in a posh, frayed-round-the-edges, South Kensington way. Ave per head £30. Nearest Tube: South Kensington.

Spitfire, 93 Fulham Palace Road, W6 (020-8748 7272). Run by Second World War veterans, members of the Polish Airmen's Association. It's rare you're served borscht by an ex-fighter pilot. Ave per head £15. Nearest Tube: Hammersmith.

Polish Church, 2 Devonia Road, N1 (020-7226 9944). Not really a restaurant, but after mass on Sunday, between noon and 1pm, anyone can call in for its excellent three-course, organic Polish lunch for just a fiver. The Polish patisserie here is renowned and you may find yourself standing next to the head of the Polish Church in England. He's mates with the Pope, you know. Ave per head £7. Nearest Tube: Angel.
