Peter Rabbit gets a selfie stick as miniature Beatrix Potter sculptures unveiled across capital

Miniature sculptures of Beatrix Potter characters, including Peter Rabbit holding a selfie stick, have been unveiled across the capital.

In celebrate of the 150^th anniversary of Potter's birth, tiny tributes were placed at Southbank, Westminster Bridge, St. James’ Park and Bond Street early this morning.

The miniatures include Peter Rabbit testing out a selfie stick in front of the London Eye, Mr. Jeremy Fisher casting his line in a Westminster puddle, and Jemima Puddle-Duck getting revenge.

Taking over 140 hours to complete, the models measure just 17 centimetres or less and weigh less than a tub of butter.

Artist Marcus Crocker, who created the models, said: “Understanding the anatomy of each animal was very important to me – Beatrix Potter felt the same.

“Balancing this desire for accuracy against making sure each figure remained true to her work was a huge challenge, but a thoroughly enjoyable one, and I hope everyone enjoys the result.”

The figures will go on display at Waterstones Piccadilly in July.
