Down the cakehole: some alligator with your whiskey?

It's too late for me to be April Fooling you, so please bear with me: fried alligator has arrived in London.

According to the team at The Blues Kitchen in Camden who recently went on a research trip to New Orleans, alligator has sprung up on menus all over the Deep South. Inspired by this, TBK has just decided to put alligator tail on the menu. For £13.50 it will land on your plate fried, coated in Cajun panko bread

crumbs and served with fresh mint and sweet chilli sauce.

If it tastes anything like crocodile it won’t go down well with our resident exotic meat reviewer who found that flavourless — but we’ll let you decide.
