Dinerama reopens on Thursday, just 24 days after being destroyed by fire
Shoreditch’s Dinerama will reopen to the public on Thursday, just 24 days after a large fire destroyed 70% of the site.
Speaking of how the quick turnaround has been possible, organiser Jonathon Downey said: “I’ve got no idea! It’s a miracle and we’re contacting the Vatican to get it officially acknowledged as such. Rick and Terry, who project managed the rebuild, have been amazing with only 24 days on site - 10 days site clearance and 14 days rebuild.”

The vast day and night market – which contains 19 street food businesses and has a capacity of 1000 – will run every Thursday - Sunday for seven weeks.
As before, it contains six eat-in street diners, featuring Breddos, Smokestak and Fundi, along with a line-up of stalls including B.O.B’s Lobster, Yum Bun and You Doughnut. There will also be six bars including the Baja-Marama Bar selling Mexican beer, tequila slushies and Chillibacks, and the Rum Rooftop for desert island-inspired cocktails.
The fire broke out in the early hours of the morning on Sunday July 19 at the site on Great Eastern Street, and took London Fire Brigade two hours to extinguish. It is thought that it started with a faulty boiler or a faulty oven.
