We're all feeling the pinch now the credit crunch is kicking in. And the irony is that just when we could all do with forgetting our money worries and enjoying a cheery evening of dancing and making merry, we can't afford it. Which is why we've scoured the clubs and bars of London to find you seven fabulous nights out for under a tenner. Just go easy on the bar bill.

For alleycats
Kaboodle at the Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes
Concealed beneath West Central's Tavistock Hotel is the Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes, a nostalgic throwback to the alleys of the Fifties. Every Saturday, club night Kaboodle hijacks the Lanes' luxurious Kingpin Suite and for a mere £5 you can spin a few balls while your eardrums are treated to the sounds of rock'n'roll, electro, pop and hip hop.

For giggles
Choice Comedy Club
Choice FM'S Comedy Club, at Aussie pub Walkabout, attracts an ever-growing crowd each month, giggling, guffawing and baying for the blood of the brave gag-masters who tread the boards. Comics include Vanessa Fraction, Kojo, Slimm and Felix Dexter and a ticket costs £8.50.

The next Comedy Club is on Monday - so start practising your heckling now. Oh, and happy hour drinks start at £1.50.

FourPlay at Punk
Super-cool Soho nightclub Punk's quirky dating night FourPlay is four hours of flirting with prospective partners dotted around the club. If you spot some eye candy across the room simply summon your "sex slave" waiter, who will gladly take over a note inviting your chosen prey to join you for a drink and perhaps some number-swapping. Drinks are two for the price of one, and it's free to get in.

For Latin lovers
Guanabara
London's most celebrated Brazilian bar, Guanabara, plays host to Chorinho and Bossa Nova nights every Monday.

Entry is free, as are the saucy samba lessons. Shake your hips to the Latin beats, then quench your thirst with a couple of cocktails. Caipirinhas are £3.20 all night and happy hour beers come in at an unbelievable £2.20.

For ravers
Potty Mouth Disco
For a foul-mouthed night of brilliant music and fun, check out 333's Potty Mouth Disco. The entry fee is £5 and includes vodka and cakes. Speakerpopping techno, rave and disco sets from Tronik Youth, Buster Bennett, Frank Musik and aMancalledCraig will be your musical accompaniment for the evening.

For culture vultures
Late-night art
As most gallery owners would agree, you can't put a price on good art. So they haven't. Enjoy free, late-night entry to a raft of galleries across the capital. Check out Chinese artist Huang Yong Ping at the Barbican until 10pm every Thursday, or the Street Arts show at Tate Modern. At the ICA, there are free film screenings, including the manga hit Death Note: The Last Name.
