BOOK IT: Red Bull Culture Clash 2012

Get ready for one almighty clash in North London this November. The Red Bull Culture Clash is back, and it’s bringing with it some of the biggest names in reggae, dubstep, grime, UK house and garage for a battle bigger than the X Factor in one of the capital’s biggest arenas.

The famous Culture Clash - which first took place in 2010 - brings four stages, four big acts and four different sounds and will be taking over Wembley Arena and transforming the venue into a musical battleground for the annual Clash event. Inspired by the Jamaican soundclash culture, the four different acts, each representing a different genre, will each set up a soundsystem in the corners of the arena and battle it out to be the champion of this year’s Culture Clash.

This year boasts one of the biggest line-ups yet (previous contestants have included Soul II Soul Crew and drum and bass godfather Goldie) with Beyoncé and M.I.A super producer Diplo taking to the stage under the guise of Major Lazer, Radio 1’s Annie Mac pledging her allegiance to dubstep supergroup Magnetic Man, Boy Better Know bringing their grime beats and reggae susperstars and reigning champions Channel One soundsystem all battling it out to be top dogs.

If that’s not enough, each act will have their own team behind them to help them slog it out. Major Lazer’s special guests are as yet unannounced, but Magnetic Man will be joined by RnB star Ms Dynamite and Hackney’s very own quartet Rudimental, while Boy Better Know will rely on the help of big grime names Wiley and Lethal Bizzle, and reggae superstar Anthony B will be helping out Channel One.

Each team only has a limited time to drop as many tracks as they can – some of which will have been recorded especially for the night – to win over the crowd. It’s a rare chance to see the biggest names in reggae, dubstep, grime and garage all at the same time, so make sure you snap up your tickets now to avoid missing the biggest music battle of the year.
