Trip Kitchen and Bar - review

The buzz: ex-Kopapa chef Selin Kiazim has set up shop under the railway arches near Haggerston station.

The deal: Next-door to the quirky Trip studio, where vibrating Hoxtonites contort into dynamic yoga poses, is Trip Kitchen and bar. Soft, mellow lighting and unfussy, sparse seating create a comfortable space where Turkish-inspired small plates and traditional, quality drinks are served by knowledgeable staff.

Good for: long, convivial evenings.

Order: the house special, Vermut Casa Mariol, served with an orange slice, olive and soda.

By the way: lamb with pomegranate sauce and yoghurt (£7) is the signature dish. Order with a glass of organic merlot (£4.50 for a large glass).
