The Buffalo Bourbon Empire pop-up

Whisky and cocktail lovers listen up; there’s a new pop-up in town, and it’s bringing the best of Kentucky from across the pond right to the West End.

Classic Kentucky bourbon producers Buffalo Trace have set up their pop-up bar inspired by Prohibition era drinking culture in Tavistock Street, and it’s full of authentic American cocktails, and of course plenty of conspicuous waiters clad in spats and braces.

The Buffalo Bourbon Empire opened earlier this week, and behind a discreet curtain-cloaked entrance punters are invited to sip Sazerac while trying their hands at craps or toss the boss.

Master blender Drew Mayville - who’s flown in especially for the three-week residence - will be mixing up classics like the Manhattan through to more experimental Pickleback (a shot of pickle juice and a shot of Buffalo Trace – don’t knock it until you’ve tried it), and will also be on hand to offer bourbon tasting master-classes. There will also be the chance to win a trip to New York for two.
