The talk: Located on the 28th floor of the Hilton, Galvin at Windows boasts unrivalled views of the capital. The bar has undergone a £500,000 refurbishment, and now has a hedonistic 1930s theme with a sophisticated menu of cocktails and bar snacks.

The deal: The cocktail menu is vast. At £10 for a gin and tonic and £15 for a cocktail, it is a place for special occasions.

Would suit: Romantics looking to impress.

Order: The quirkier items like the White Pearl Earl Grey tea and rum cocktail is a delicious blend of sweet and sour. For something refreshing, the gin, cucumber and peach Galvin’s Garden is perfect. The homemade Scotch eggs are good too, with runny yolks, peppery sausage meat and crisp breadcrumbs.

By the way... Closing time is 2.30am on weekends so you can head to Whisky Mist downstairs to carry on.
