The drink: Lemon cheesecake martini
What’s in it? Luxardo Limoncello, Orgeat syrup, natural yoghurt, topped with ginger nut biscuits and lemon zest.
Why should we try it? Move over blue drinks, milky cocktails are the retro drink du jour. Don’t let the milk aspect put you off, though – there won’t be any curdling with this beaut. We say don’t knock it till you try it. This decadent tribute to the lemon cheesecake tastes just like the dessert (but with fewer calories).
Where do we get it? This martini is on Seven at Brixton's new spring menu. Everyone loves this tiny kitsch bar in Brixton Market for its quirky cocktails at affordable prices, tasty tapas, board games and all day weekend brunches. The vibe is always laid-back but lively and the bar is rarely empty. We say get here early and get comfy, because you won’t be going anywhere fast. If there are a few of you heading down, be sure to ring ahead and reserve a table to avoid disappointment. Plus, with this place being hidden in the market it doesn’t even matter if it’s raining outside.
Who do we ask for? The owner Jonny is charming and well skilled with a shaker so you’ll be in safe hands.
How much is it? £5 – bargain!
