The drink: Espresso Martini

What’s in it? Kahlua, freshly brewed espresso and Absolut Vodka.

Why should we try it? We’ve actually got Kate Moss and Dick Bradsell to thank for this classic – Kate walked in to a bar in the Eighties and asked Dick for something that would, to quote: "pick me up and f*ck me up". The solution? An Espresso Martini, of course. The kahlúa works like a boozy sweetener alongside the coffee, so there’s no bitter taste, and the good slug of vodka ensures that you’ll be getting more than just caffeine kick from this drink. It’s short, punchy and downright delicious.

Where do we get it? Coffee shop by day and cocktail joint by night, The Shoreditch Grind on the Old Street roundabout is the place to be at any hour. This hip hangout is the perfect spot for your daily coffee fix - with a side of vodka. With their laid back vibes and a whole menu of caffeine fuelled cocktails, you’ll most probably find yourself buzzing your way through Hot Flat White Russians and Espresso Martinis well into the early hours.
