Seaside in the city: Sandy beaches come to Brixton and Greenwich
Brixton isn’t quite Brighton, we know. But that doesn’t mean it can’t have a beach.
The team behind last year’s South Pole Saloon will be bringing street food, summer cocktails and sand to a Brixton rooftop in May, transforming a slice of south London into marvellous Miami.
That’s Miami in 1982 to be exact, and it will include immersive performances and an outdoor screen to show the summer’s sport on.
Due east there’s another giant south London sandpit coming.

Ibiza-style club Studio 338 is launching Beach 338 next door, featuring wooden decking, barbecues, sunbathing decks, hammocks and a whopping 180 tonness of imported sand.

It all kicks off on June 4, with a host of beach parties planned — including an appearance from Beardyman.
