Going Out | Events and Things To DoIbiza lands in Shoreditch with Pooldisco 1/3 J.j Anisiobi5 April 2012With just under 1,000 people left outside pleading for entry I was one of the lucky few to gain access to the members only Pooldisco at Shoreditch House.I had heard from trendy friends that this popular event is always over subscribed and yet I never truly understood why - until I arrived six floors up into the controlled hedonistic party. As I stepped out of the elevator I was first greeted by a feminine looking man wearing a gold leather catsuit. This was one of the more tame costumes on display. He ushered me up a flight of stairs to the main roof of Shoreditch House. The sun-kissed scene was filled with house music and beautiful people spread over four different party areas. On the 'lawn' were white beds while round the corner, there was a 'secret' garden serving Bacardi cocktails alongside an RnB DJ who apparently just presses play and stop. The pool area itself was heaving but only a few revellers were brave enough to take an alcohol infused dip in the heated pool. The room with the best atmosphere and music was inside. Lined with pink lights and playing the finest in disco and house, this room encapsulated the good feeling of the Pooldisco.Mark Herman, Director of the event, said: "Pooldisco is like getting into a lift in east London and stepping out six floors later into the midst of Ibiza."That is exactly how I felt about the Pooldisco. The crowd was varied with celebs like Lisa Snowdon and Vanessa of The Saturdays to New York drag queens and London MC's such as Katy B.To top off the event, a limited number of Idol scarves were handed out to the vibrant party hard crowd.Read MoreUK to reimburse visa fees for top tech and science firms in push for growthLloyds to put all 67,000 staff through AI training in fresh digital pushNew guest stars for upcoming series of Death In Paradise revealedSponsoredDiscover a hidden island paradise in the Indian Ocean The next event, and the last one of the party season is on August 29.
