Close aides to the Princess attending are: Trevor Rees-Jones, Diana's bodyguard, who survived the crash in which she died; Simon Solari, her driver; Victoria Mendham, her personal secretary; Nicky Cockell, her PA; Francis Simpson, her housekeeper; and Barbara Barnes, the princes' nanny.

Guests will include Sir Elton John, Dodi Fayed's half-sisters Camilla and Jasmine, Lord Attenborough, Sir David Frost and his wife Lady Carina, Lord Puttnam, Sir Cliff Richard and photographer Mario Testino.

A large proportion of the Spencer family will also attend, including Diana's brother Earl Spencer and his children; her sisters Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale; her stepmother Raine Spencer; and 12 of her 17 godchildren.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown and former prime ministers Tony Blair and Sir John Major will attend.

There will also be 110 representatives from charities and other organisations associated with the princess.

CNN will have a live news feed from Canada Gate and there will be satellites from stations from around the world, including CBS and NBC.
