27ft Christmas tree on the Southbank will be dispensing free beer on Friday

Christmas may have come early for larger lovers as a 27ft Christmas tree will be a beacon of free beer on Friday December 4.

The giant fir will be set up on the Southbank at the Observation Point and will be adorned with candle-lit beer bottles and an all important beer pump, where Londoners can get a beer, thought to be a half pint, from midday until 7pm.

Carlsberg, who are behind the stunt, are also giving the first 100 people to visit a hand-blown glass ‘beerble’, which can be drunk from, while online they’re giving away a year’s supply of lager.
