The Government today pledged £2 million to a project commemorating the centenary of the end of the First World War with silhouettes of the Tommies who fought in it.

Others are at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, a Sikh temple in Southall. Communities can purchase silhouettes and the government money will enable schools and faith groups to take part.

The project is run by Remembered, which aids Armed Forces charities. The sculptures were designed by Martin Barraud. More than 60,000 small replicas have been sold, raising £1.8 million.
