The X Factor 2016: Brooks Way 'suspended' just hours before first live show

Twin brother duo Brooks Way were dropped from the first X Factor live show just hours before they were due to perform.

Josh and Kylie Brooks, both 17, were reportedly suspended from performing on Saturday pending an ‘investigation’.

Without giving any reasons behind the last minute decision, Dermot O’Leary simply told the audience:

“Due to circumstances that have arisen Brooks Way will not be appearing on tonight’s show.”

The teenage singers, who are in Louis Walsh’s groups category, are expected to rejoin the shows next week and will not be replaced by another act.

A source told The Mirror: “'They are not being replaced by another act - there will simply be 11 acts, not 12.

“Show bosses have not axed them - they have been suspended while the show has a chance to investigate claims.”

While neither producers nor the act have said what the investigation will be about, the suspension comes after Josh Brooks was forced to deny a series of allegations.

Responding to allegations that he had been arrested following an altercation at a New Year’s Eve party, involving girlfriend Amelia Clarke, Josh said:

“A fight broke out between me and another male at a party.
