What Happened is Bacci's first play and explores sexuality, decadence and deceit, and while these themes have already been documented at length by Jonathan Harvey et al, he manages to skilfully reflect the world of disaffected adolescence without ever resorting to cliche. Controversy is bound to surround the production - with its male nudity and subject matter ranging from rape to murder - but it's important not to let this overshadow Bacci's moving and at times hilarious script. Sensitive and insightful, this is an accomplished debut from the 23-year-old, who also produces and stars in the production. His previous credits include being in a boyband and recording a solo pop album. Clearly there is no end to his talents, and if What Happened is anything to go by, this boy is surely going to become a force to be reckoned with.
