Two pairs of London siblings will make their professional acting debuts in the stage show of The Railway Children.
Emily Littlejohn, 12, and her sister, Lydia, 10, from Islington, and Francesca Moorhouse, 12, with her brother Max, nine, from Fulham, will appear with Sean Hughes as Mr Perks and Caroline Harker in Mike Kenny’s adaptation of E Nesbit’s classic story about a family torn apart by a spying scandal.
The Littlejohns’ mother, Alice, said her children had jumped at the chance to audition for the show — which features a real steam train in a specially built theatre at King’s Cross.
Max Moorhouse, who like his sister attends Saturday drama classes, said: “I really like the finale when the family are standing united — and seeing a steam train in the middle of a theatre. I think it is amazing.”
