Mac the Knife

The cream of new UK acts on the stand-up circuit are being brought together for a brand new weekly night launching in Camden at The Mac Bar.

Mac The Knife is kicking off at the Vegas-style venue on Monday October 6, and promises to be an evening that will transport punters back to the 50’s and early 60’s with a lounge-style table service, cocktail waitresses and cigar girls, plus fantastic food.

The night is being run by BBC Radio’s Nat Coombs - a man on a comedy mission: "I want us to create a playground for both the acts and the audience," he said. “The audience will get a consistently strong line-up every week in a relaxed yet exciting atmosphere. It’s a simple enough formula, but one that isn’t adhered to enough. And the best thing? It’s free entry." Booking a table is recommended though.

Resident acts include Rhod Gilbert (Winner of BBC Talent 2003), Matt Kirshen (Winner of Hackney Empire New Act Comp. 2003), Marek Larwood (Winner Amused Moose Allstars Comp. 2003), Greg Davies (Winner ES/Metro Life New Act Comp 2003), Steve Hall (Finalist BBC Talent 2003) Nat Coombs (BBC Radio 7’s Spanking New) Tom Price (Daily Telegraph Open Mic Finalist) & Pat Monahan (Daily Telegraph Open Mic Finalist) who will be joined by special guests on rotation.
