Kelly laps up new role

To be honest, I don't go to the theatre. There isn't much I'm interested in. But as soon as I read Neil Monaghan's script for Eye Contact I thought it was something I wanted to see. And indeed be in.

The play is like a night in a table-dancing club. The clientele are the usual suited businessmen or lads on a stag night. My character, Anya, is this loud-mouthed London table dancer who, funnily enough, has very high moral standards. There is one girl in the play who starts doing porno and my character is very against that, even though she takes her clothes off for a living as well.

Anya thinks that all the men who come in are complete tossers. However, there is one guy in particular she takes a shine to, and she hates herself for it. But he keeps coming back. The play revolves around them battling to see who has control - whether she is manipulating him to see if she can get more money out of him, or whether he's actually pulled her.

I've done theatre before but mainly as a dancer. This is my first leading part in a play. I have done my modelling and television work, which paved the way for me to go back to what I was originally doing. But to be honest, I'm a bit nervous. Doing stuff like The Big Breakfast live on telly is totally different to having an audience in front of you. But it is a very good young cast, which takes the pressure off.

We want to make the play feel like you're in a club for a couple of hours. Obviously there is going to be a certain amount of nudity. But how much and who does it we have not yet decided. You will just have to come and see!
