Dance GB at the Old Royal Naval College

The National Dance Company of Wales, Scottish Ballet and English National Ballet have come together for a triple bill of work on their tour of Britain.

From Wednesday night (July 4), the three national ballet companies will be performing for four nights in Greenwich as they showcase their different works back-to-back.

The Scottish contribution will take Einstein's belief that "dancers are the athletes of God" as their starting point in Run For It, set to the music of John Adams. Meanwhile, the ENB have chosen John Cage's avant garde music as they perform And the Earth Shall Bear Again.

The smallest of the companies, the National Dance Company of Wales, commissioned their work from one of Britain's most senior choreographers, Christopher Bruce. Of the three works, this is the most overtly sport-themed, telling a story that opens with a tongue-in-cheek depiction of 1950s austerity.
