Daft duo brimming with ideas

They asked me sometime later to do a pilot with them for the Paramount channel, a spoof on Australian soap-operas - something we thought was hilarious, and very fitting at the time. And from there Paramount commissioned their first series for Channel 4, where they launched all these new characters that we now know and love.

This is the first time they've been on stage for some time, and they'll be combining their stage, TV and a whole new range of characters, which I very much look forward to seeing. My favourite sketch from their stage show is The Car Chase, which is apparently back. And another favourite of mine, that I've made a special request for, is The Professional Whistlers - it's these two guys who go into a recording studio, and are chatting away with their music infront of them. Then they're asked to begin, and start whistling the most mundane, boring tune. And that's their job, to just go in and whistle.

The thing about Armstrong and Miller is that they are hugely likeable and so enthusiastic, which makes it a pleasure to work with them. They dance about like puppies. This tour is going back to what they used to do. It's always a good way to experiment with new characters in front of a live audience like that.

They have promised me something very special for the 'Nude Practice Finale'. We used to do the Nude Practice sketch for Channel 4, where all three of us walk around in the duff, and the first time we did it, it was an agonising experience. We spent a cold November morning in a Derbyshire field, in our wellies and absolutely nothing else - so to top that will be interesting. The boys like being naked - they're very proud.
