The Top Five Dancing musicals on stage and screen
1. Chicago
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renèe Zellweger are winning rave reviews for the big-screen version of the raunchy romp that shows no sign of flagging in the West End. Gaby Roslin must have been gutted that she didn't get the part - the rest of us weren't.
2. Grease
Even the anodyne presence of Debbie Gibson couldn't flatten the Broadway rock'n'roll kitschfest that will live forever in our hearts thanks to John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. He can dance, she can't, but somehow it never really mattered.
3.A Chorus Line
With reality TV the cultural phenomenon du jour, surely it's time for a revival of this ahead-of-its-time reality musical in which we follow the trials and tribulations of showbiz dance wannabes. The Attenborough movie version is a dead duck, but worth renting for some really bad 1980s hair.
4. West Side Story

5. Cabaret
The presence of dance legend Bob Fosse in the director's chair for this Ebb-Kander classic ensured the nightclub numbers packed plenty of choreographic zip. Liza Minnelli to don the fishnets again? No, no, we'll put that one on hold...
