Surrealist party games and rarely seen artwork go on display at new exhibition featuring Dali and Magritte
This Surrealist exhibition isn't just showing artworks by internationally-renowned artists – it's teaching you how to play party games like them too.
Surrealism: A Conversation at the Olivier Malingue gallery will display lesser known and rarely seen works by Surrealist artists including Salvador Dalí, Max Ernst, René Magritte and more at its New Bond Street gallery until May 12.
The free exhibition will also show a collection of Cadavre Exquis – drawings created through the playing of a game in which artists drawing a section of a body, before folding it hidden and passing it to the next artist.
The result is a rather odd looking final product, while the process ties into ideas of the subconscious and the uncanny that were so important to the Surrealist movement.
