Handed his first major directing gig, 1996's The Cable Guy, Stiller somehow, against overwhelming odds, steered hotter-than-hot Jim Carrey to his first flop. His role in There's Something About Mary, though, proved to be his resurrection. For all his avowed good intentions about more serious things - like a reworking of the 1941 Hollywood novel, What Makes Sammy Run, a pet project - Stiller's bread is amply buttered with the forthcoming Meet The Parents sequel (Meet The Fockers) and, staggeringly, another big-screen redo of a Seventies TV show, Starsky And Hutch, with Stiller as Starsky, possibly Owen Wilson in the David Soul part and, get this, Snoop Dogg as Huggy Bear.
