Robotic duo are double trouble

Critics forced to sit through a Tinseltown tale with absolutely no sparkle have finally been avenged. Experts have named Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman as the worst movie double act of all time.

The pair starred together in the monumental flop The Avengers, which bombed at the box office and was universally panned by critics. Writers at Total Film magazine described Fiennes as 'stiff as MDF' and Thurman 'robotic'.

Ceri Thomas, of Total Film, said: 'They look as if they've never even met before - just plonked on the set on the day of the shoot and told to flirt. Completely unconvincing.' Others in the list include Jean-Claude Van Damme's performance in two roles in Maximum Risk, and Elizabeth Hurley's partnership with Denis Leary in Double Whammy.
