Ten Minutes Older: The Trumpet (Cert 15, 92 mins)

Seven directors were each asked to make a 10-minute movie on the subject of time. The result, from the likes of Aki Kaurismaki, Jim Jarmusch and Spike Lee, are as varied as one might expect and far better than one might have hoped.

Werner Herzog has created a moving documentary about a Brazilian rainforest tribe first "discovered" in 1981, whose culture subsequently leapfrogged 10,000 years of evolution, while Wim Wenders offers the ultimate road trip, in which a hallucinating driver has 10 minutes to reach a hospital.

Best of all, Spanish director Victor Erice (whose Spirit of the Beehive has been reissued) takes a new-born child, a sleeping mother, some dirty children and a pastry cook to create an epic set on the day the Nazis crossed into Spain.
