Kung Fu hooey

As comedy Kung Fu parodies go, Kung Phooey! packs less punch than a cold bowl of Kung-pow chicken.

Young Art-Chew ('bless you'! Y'see, his name sounds like a sneeze; hilarious, no?) is an orphan trained in the ancient art of Kung-Phooey at the Shir-lee Temple (topical humour) under a priest named Master Card (best joke of the entire film!).

Spirited to modern day America, Art-Chew (Michael Chow) hooks up with a wannabe Bruce Lee black dude called Leroy (Colman Domingo) to battle gangland MSG-pusher Helen Hu (cue much 'Helen who?', 'Yes, that's right, Helen Hu' etc etc - played by Joyce Thi Brew) and her evil henchmen Lo Fat and Non Fat.

Not so much the flip-side to Kill Bill as the crap Made In Taiwan 'novelty' gift item found in budget Christmas crackers - but without the novelty. A serious load of hooey.
