Blind Spot: Hitler's Secretary (Cert PG, 90 mins)

This documentary records the astonishing revelations of Frau Traudl Junge, who was Adolf Hitler's personal secretary from 1942 until his suicide in 1945. After a silence of nearly 60 years, Junge describes with great clarity the circumstances of her employment and the daily business of Hitler's reign, up to and including the last days in the bunker.

Unable to forgive her youthful naivety, she refuses to indulge in selfpity and makes a shrewd analysis of herself and the German people at the time. Andre Heller simply records Junge's testimony, allowing the occasional cutaway of her looking at a replay of the interview on a TV screen and making additional comments.

Among many memorable recollections are watching Hitler kiss Eva Braun for the first time and the tale of a lone female fighter ace who arrived like a Valkyrie in the final days at the bunker, had a meeting with Hitler, and flew off again.
