Heather has the last laugh

It was a hard choice, choosing between this movie and Meet The Parents. I knew Jay Roach, the director of Meet The Parents, from the Austin Powers film. But when I read the script, I didn't think the role offered enough.

I play a girlfriend in Say It Isn't So, but in the other film I would just be the sweet, attractive, nice girl. That seemed boring. I wanted to be part of the comedy - like, in this movie, I get to cut a guy's ear off!

I get to make a joke at the end of the movie, too. I get to do funny things, as opposed to always setting up a joke for someone else.

I laughed my head off when I read this script and I was excited to work with the Farrelly Brothers. They're so funny. When they put the sperm thing in Cameron Diaz's hair in Something About Mary, that was hysterical. Unfortunately, that's my kind of humour. I'm sure that was nerve-racking for her to think, is this funny or not? You never really know with a movie, you just hope it turns out good.

It would take a lot to embarrass me. Actually, there were much grosser things in this movie, which they cut out. I know that's hard to believe, seeing as it's a comedy about possible incest, but there was this scene right before Chris Klein and I find out we're brother and sister, and we were having sex and our heads are banging against the headboard, and then it shows Chris's head banging so hard that he goes through the wall! Pretty gross.

But I guess it's flattering, that they would pick me for this role about some guy who's really, really into me. A part of me thinks, "That's really cool." However, in real life I wouldn't want a guy to stalk me.
