For if documentary film has a poster boy (aside from Michael Moore) it is Broomfield, who, since the early 1970s, has been one of Britain's most consistent filmmakers. Yet it's not the early films which sealed his popular image. That happened when he stepped in front of the camera and into the stories of Heidi Fleiss Hollywood Madam, Biggie and Tupac, Kurt and Courtney and serial killer Aileen Wuornos.
