Film Flash! Meg returns to romcom

Fish-lipped rom-com star Meg Ryan has signed to star in...another romcom! The fluffy-haired sweetheart will star in The Land of Women opposite stuttering O.C. pinup Adam Brody in the bittersweet comedy, directed by Jonathan Kasdan.

Humourless macrobiotic mum Gwyneth Paltrow is set to recreate legendary singer Peggy Lee in a biopic about legendary writer Truman Capote. According to Variety, Chris Martin's missus will join Mark Wahlberg, Sandra Bullock and Sigourney Weaver in the cast of Every Word Is True.

Unstoppable movie powerhouses Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise are teaming up to make a big screen version of HG Wells' sci-fi classic War Of The Worlds. Spielberg will direct the movie, with Cruise starring — and certainly not the other way round.

Director Michael Mann is teaming up with sprout-faced star Leonardo DiCaprio on a drama about the great American crime wave of the mid-1930s. Based on the Bryan Burrough book Public Enemies, the movie will focus on the struggle between J. Edgar Hoover's fledgling FBI and the most famous criminals of the Depression era, according to Variety. It is not yet known which role DiCaprio will play.

Ben 'Sir Ben' Kingsley is putting his thespian credentials to good use for his next role — as a vampire in a film adaptation of a video game. The knighted Oscar-winner will take the role of vampire ruler Kagan in BloodRayne, opposite fembot star Kristanna Loken.
