Adapted from the computer game, this over-the-top sci-fi horror has little to recommend it as a piece of cinema.

A tough, well-armed mercenary team, headed by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, is sent off from Earth to investigate odd goings-on at a research station on Mars, where a legion of nightmarish creatures have to be eliminated.

It's all sound and fury signifying very little but a kind of macho bloodlust.
