Nardini lives with her musician partner in Notting Hill, but her favourite music is silence, and she eventually wants to move out of London. She'd like children but not for a few years, not before she's had an opportunity to work with one of the directors she admires - Mike Figgis, Ken Loach or Danny Boyle. Meanwhile, trips back to Scotland help to keep her feet on the ground. 'When I did Rough Treatment, everybody in London was like, "You were so fine in the part." I went up to Scotland and the first thing my brother said was, "When you were running I was pissing myself." My friend said, "When you were doing that funny talking I couldn't stop laughing." Someone else said, "You ran like a middle-aged woman." I thought, "Yes, I'm back home." It's a quality I miss. I think the English tend to take themselves a bit more seriously.'
