A lightweight tragedy

This Hong Kong version of Romeo and Juliet has Chinese pop star Fiona Sit starring with Jackie Chan's son, Jaycee Fong.

Oddly, the pair scarcely look at each other throughout, and the tragic romance appears extremely lightweight.

Tolerance across the class divide seems to be the moral of Tung-shing Yee's film as the families combust when the girl gets pregnant.

But it's thin gruel.
