I would certainly not recommend this film to children under the age of seven as it is very scary.
There are also some gory bits such as when Mrs Kirby finds a skeleton hanging from a tree and gets tangled up in it for a long time. Also when we got to look directly into the mouth of a roaring Spinosaurus.
The carnivorous dinos which give the characters the most trouble are the Velociraptors and Spinosaurus, although Terradons, Compys and Tyrannosaurus Rex also get in the way of rescuing the boy and getting off the island.
There are a few funny bits but mostly it is just loads of scary special effects and the story doesn't quite add up.
