Her latest film installation features 25 ardent John Lennon fans giving it their all as they croon, gurn and fumble their way through Lennon's solo album Plastic Ono Band. Although it's meant to be an ensemble effort, there's little in the way of unity: each fan is featured on a separate screen, seemingly existing in an entirely self-defined space. One man looks as if he's been possessed by the spirit of David Byrne circa Psycho Killer, another emotes like the cheesiest of balladeers. Just like those so-embarrassing-it's-brilliant early X Factor auditions, you wonder where self-delusion ends and reality begins. But the really nice thing about this work is that there's a lot of heart in it.
