BusinessWillmott Dixon bags London Screen Academy building contractWillmott Dixon Interiors is helping to create the Islington home of London Screen AcademyJoanna Hodgson11 February 2019Construction firm Willmott Dixon said it has won a refurbishment contract to help create a new film school in Islington. The Hertfordshire-headquartered firm will help build the London Screen Academy, opening in September at 62-66 Highbury Grove. There will be an initial intake of 300 students.Teens will learn about film-production techniques, costume design and movie marketing. The contract, understood to be worth about £20 million, was awarded by the Department for Education. Work will be done by Willmott Dixon Interiors and includes creating a three-storey film production studio, and new windows and façade repairs to the existing building.
