Ten Entertainment plans to reopen bowling alleys on August 1

Bowling alley company Ten Entertainment has said its 39 centres in England will reopen from the Covid-19 lockdown next month.

The tenpin bowling operator, which counts sites in Croydon and Acton among its London branches, said new social distancing measures will be in place when customers can come back from August 1.

There will be a new web-based ordering system allowing people to order food and drink directly to their lanes or tables.

The government last week said bowling alleys could finally reopen from August 1. Companies had to close sites in March, and different sectors have started trading at different times, with non-essential retailers opening on June 15, and pubs from July 4.

Ten Entertainment’s 39 centres opening represent 91% of group turnover. The six sites across Wales and Scotland are prepared for reopening once Government restrictions are lifted there.
