Morrisons said deflation eased from 1% to 0.2% over its last quarter, but it would remain sharp on price versus rivals. Last week it cut prices on hundreds of household items.
Bernstein’s Bruno Monteyne said Morrisons’ Christmas performance reflected “good execution” and was a positive sign for fellow supermarkets.
