Safestyle UK cheers surge in demand for double glazing

Double-glazing firm Safestyle said it has seen a jump in orders since Covid-19 lockdown restrictions eased.

The company, which sells windows, doors and conservatories, was able to restart work in mid-May, in line with government guidelines.

Safestyle said: “On restart it became clear that consumer demand was ahead of our expectations.”

Order numbers booked in the eight weeks from May 25 jumped 23.2% compared to the same period in 2019.

Mike Gallacher, chief executive of Safestyle, said: “Our view is that the combination of deferred lockdown demand and a major shift in consumer spend from travel and leisure to home improvement have driven the increased demand we have experienced.”
