One property expert said: “It is getting increasingly difficult to secure land for student housing in London as investors are competing with traditional housebuilders prepared to pay mega prices. This will be a rare opportunity to take control of a portfolio with strong exposure to the London market.”
He added that the bulk of LetterOne’s assets have good transport links to some of Britain’s top universities, meaning they are likely to have a continuous throng of freshers queuing up to rent bedrooms.
Recent student accommodation deals include GCP Student Living forking out £135 million for a 427-bedroom scheme, Woburn Place, in Bloomsbury.
